Sanctuary is an exhibition about “home, connection, love, creativity, loss, peace, relaxation, serenity and comfort”. Photographer My Linh Le took pictures of people cradling in their hands objects that spoke to them of these things.

It was a collaborative project with Kettle’s Yard Gallery. Artist Issam Kourbaj drew together the contributions from people living near the newly-refurbished Arbury Court Library, and sound artist Hannah Kemp-Welch recorded their stories of what the things they cradled meant to them.

The new acoustic panels  — photos that will play the recordings — are a permanent installation for the library. Or you can listen to the stories here.
