Mitzvah Day

As a Mitzvah Day project and as part of Interfaith Week, Cambridge City of Sanctuary, Beth Shalom Reform Synagogue and Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group (CamCRAG) teamed together to invite local faith groups to donate on that day a small item or items needed for the next CamCRAG convoy. Beth Shalom acted as the collection centre. CamCRAG (charity number 1170180 https://camcrag.org.uk/contact/) send regular convoys of volunteers and aid from the Cambridge region to help refugees in Northern France.  We were able to collect two van loads of much needed household items for CamCRAG to distribute to refugees living in camps andon the streets in northern France.  The photographs show Daniel Zeichner MP encouraging some of the volunteersas we sorted the collection. Many thanks to all who took part in this successful day of joint action.

Mitzvah Day is a Jewish-led day of social action that brings thousands of people together of all faiths and none, and all ages, to give their time, NOT their money, to make a difference to the local community around them on Mitzvah Day.
